About Me

My name is Shari Branin and I am a sophomore in the BSN program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, VA. I have lived in Roanoke all my life and am a 2008 graduate of Glenvar High School. Since high school, I have worked in childcare and have been the supervisor of an after-school program. I love working with children. I recently got married in July to a wonderful man who I have been with for eight years. We are in the process of adopting our son, Ryan, who just turned three in July. He is the light of our lives and is my motivation for returning to school and pursuing a career in nursing.

Some of my hobbies and/or interests include, reading, writing, family activities, watching football (New England Patriots!!), listening to music or going to concerts, trying new things, and going on various road trips. I love doing different things with my family and enjoy every moment I get to spend with my husband and son. People who know me would say that I tend to be introverted and shy when around others, but once you get to know me I am more outgoing.

My experience here at Jefferson has been tremendous so far. I take each class seriously and do my best to excel. I enjoy learning new things and taking the steps necessary towards my nursing career. I am looking forward to all my future courses and, of course, graduating! I definitely plan to make the most of this experience.
